Dr. Joey Tan is a global technology executive with over 27 years of leadership experience driving AI, cloud, and digital transformation initiatives across APAC, EMEA, and LATAM. He has held senior leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer at Microsoft Singapore, Managing Director at Alibaba Group, and Head of Commercial Sales at Amazon Web Services Singapore, where he worked closely with governments and enterprises on large-scale digital transformation and cloud adoption.

At the NUS Asian Institute of Digital Finance, he serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor and Program Director, designing and delivering executive programmes that help financial leaders bridge the gap between AI strategy and real-world implementation. His teaching focuses on areas such as Generative AI, agentic enterprises, responsible AI adoption, and evaluating the business value of emerging technologies in the financial sector.

Beyond academia, Dr. Tan remains active in the professional community as the Chair of the Sustainable Tech Executive Committee at the Singapore Computer Society, where he contributes to advancing discussions on sustainable and responsible technology development. He also serves as a Board Trustee for the Global Centre for Risk and Innovation.

Dr. Tan holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University.

Ashish Kakar is a Director (Research) Financial Insights at IDC. Previously he was a banker and has managed his own fintech. Ashish received his DBA from Durham University and emlyon business school, France. Ashish has won multiple awards including best thesis at Durham University and CXO conference 2.0 business leadership. Ashish co-authored a research paper on Smart Cities that was launched in the House of Lords, UK Parliament. The paper was recognized by thinkers 360 in 2025 as a global thought leadership content. Currently, Ashish is an advisor to AIDF, NUS and a visiting fellow with Durham University Business School.

Sam Ahmed

Managing Director & Head of APAC, Swarm Dynamics A.I

Sam Ahmed is Managing Director, APAC at Swarm AI and founder of Deriv Asia X. He previously served as Group COO for Global Financial Markets at DBS Bank in Singapore. Prior to DBS, he held senior roles at Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and Citi across trading, sales, risk, and operations functions in Asia-Pacific. His work focuses on financial markets infrastructure, risk, front to back workflows, and the application of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in banking. Sam also serves as a guest lecturer on the NUS Executive MBA programme and Advisor for SMU's graduate programs at the LKC School of Business.  He regularly speaks at international conferences on the impact of emerging technology on Global Markets and Finance.   He received his BA in Economics from Macquarie University and his MSc in Communications (Behavioural Science) from Singapore Management University
